The title page gives students the idea of the length of the assignment and what they can expect from the final result. Students will often be required to write about a subject from a specific perspective. The title page should provide the reader with this information. Examples include essays on literature, history, philosophy, and political science. The title page of the research paper, project document or dissertation should be different.

Next, you need to select the appropriate research sources for your term papers. There are numerous reliable sources to use while writing the term papers; they include primary research, secondary research, and secondary sources. Primary research is the actual research that is done on the subject and secondary research is directly related to the research of the author. A third type of secondary sources is any additional information, ideas, facts, or information the author may discover when reading material that isn’t primary. It is always a good idea to compile several secondary sources before you begin writing your research paper.

The introduction is probably the most important section of the term paper since it is the first paragraph which will include the principal idea of the paper. This will let students know what the paper will be about. Many students do not bother with the introduction, believing that it isn’t necessary. A good introduction will inform you the major points of the paper. It should be written in clear and simple English.

An excellent idea prior to writing the term paper would be to outline the main elements of the introduction. Once you have a rough draft, edit the introduction and rewrite it using the ideas from the outline. This will make the paper adhere to the outline you previously worked on. It is a good idea for someone to review your term paper before submitting it. This is especially important when there are multiple people looking over the assignment.

Another thing to do prior to writing the term paper is to determine the topic of your choice and go through similar papers to make sure that your topic is distinctive. If the topic is similar to one covered in another paper, it’s okay to borrow portions of the paper. Borrowing information from a study on marketing strategies for the subject you are interested in could be acceptable. Plagiarism happens when you borrow entire pages or paragraphs of information.

Also, do not use paragraphs throughout the term paper. Students usually use four to five research stop legit paragraphs for each paper which is acceptable. It is better for students to use 12 to 24 paragraphs, rather than the standard four to five. Also, ensure that you use proper footnotes at the bottom of each page.
